Cleone, You are like Picasso (artistic), Trump (keen business acumen), Gates (brilliant), Leno (funny), Speilberg (creative), Oprah (entertaining), and Obama (I'd vote for you!).

Robert Reed and Cleone Lyvonne are simply outstanding! Their candid, yet cheerful and positive, feedback have helped me to grow as a writer; and I appreciate their commitment to professionalism and excellence. Most importantly, they champion the dreams of their authors! Bravo!

After having books published by Simon & Schuster, John Wiley & Sons and AMACON, I can definitely say that the book I published with Robert D. Reed Publishers was the most fun and rewarding experience of all. In an industry known for treating authors as a necessary evil, Bob is a breath of fresh air. Not only does he respect author opinions, he adds tremendous energy and creativity to marketing efforts—something most of the big publishers don't even do anymore. If you're considering various publishers, Bob should be on your short list.
~ Malcolm Kushner, author of The Light Touch: How To Use Humor For Business Success
(Simon & Schuster) and Public Speaking For Dummies (Wiley)
I knew Bob Reed was different when he sent a contract that said, “Both the author and the publisher will work hard and have fun publishing this book.” I never before saw a contract (for anything) that had the word “fun” in it. And so we did both work hard and have fun!
Sensitive and caring human beings, as well as consummate professionals, Bob and Cleone make an incredible team! They ran every decision by me-- the cover, the font, and a myriad of other details, to be sure I was happy. I felt like they were working only on my book! Once the book was published, they continued to help by publicizing it and giving me many ideas and contacts to help me do my own publicity.
I had no problems with the publishers of any of my four previous books, but I never developed the kind of close friendship I now have with Bob and Cleone. I adore them and love them dearly.
I’m thrilled and honored to be publishing my next book with Robert D. Reed Publishers.
I have worked hard and had fun writing this recommendation with appreciation, admiration and affection for Bob and Cleone!
~ Lois Einhorn, Ph.D., author of Forgiveness and Child Abuse: Would YOU Forgive?
Robert D. Reed has represented my book, A Kid’s Herb Book, for over 8 years now and has been not only dependable and supportive, but also like a family taking care of its own. It has been a pleasure working together and I look forward to many more years of this!
~ Lesley Tierra, author of A Kid’s Herb Book
From the first contact to the sending out of the final product we knew we were in the hands of a consummate professional. Bob Reed is a publisher whose heart is in the right place because he is interested in taking original voices and introducing them to the world. We believe Bob to be one of the best in the business because he has given us and many other authors a shot at making the world a better place.
~ Elizabeth Diane & Andrew Marshall, Listening With Heart 360

You not only encouraged me but you also challenged me from the very beginning to make my book even better.
There is no doubt about it. Your guidance and the recommendations of your brilliant editor, Cleone Lyvonne, truly made the difference in the ultimate success of my book.
Bob Reed, I couldn’t have done it without you!
Gratefully yours,

In my experience, Robert D. Reed Publishers offers a seamless group of services as comprehensive as any major publishing house. From the start, as an author, I received valuable feedback and direction including formatting, presentation style, editing services, typesetting, plus cover design and artwork. In addition, I received thought provoking strategy and marketing direction pursuant to my book's unique appeal to several niche target markets. They even helped me set up for distribution and sales.
Most of all, I was given value added support, at each developmental stage, and treated with courtesy and responsiveness. Like other authors, I now count Bob Reed and his editor, Cleone Lyvonne among my friends. They know their craft, are at the top of their game and make it a joy to work with them.
~ Michael P. Schantz, author of 75 Principles of Conscious Leadership
I recommend Robert Reed Publishers to readers and writers who want access to books that are a higher echelon in sophistication, interest, and practicality. As an author, neuropsychologist, and business owner, I appreciate what Bob Reed offers. When I was seeking publication of my first book, Reed made it easy and palatable — so much so that I turned down an advance from a New York publisher. Bob Reed published my book quickly, and the process was efficient and comfortable. He got my book on bookstore shelves, on Amazon, into libraries, and into my office without delay. He helped me with marketing, listened to my needs, and gave useful advice. Bob is an experienced and creative person who understands the current marketplace and who translates this knowledge into opportunities for authors and good literature for the public. He keeps his word, and is a genuinely congenial and reliable guy. I count Robert Reed Publishers among my more rewarding life experiences.

With a commitment to excellence, he hires the best people to insure the publication of quality books. Then, he takes an active role in promoting his authors while giving them the knowledge and support to maximize their chances of success.

Robert D. Reed Publishers, and all of the staff there, have proven to be a most helpful resource to me as I was preparing to publish my first book, The Quander Quality, The True Story of a Black Trailblazing Diabetic. From the outset, they saw the potential in the manuscript. They helped me to expand the appeal, with editing assistance, thereby enhancing the story's appeal and increasing interest in the subject matter. They also guided me through the multi-step publishing process, to make the end product happen. I have been and remain most pleased with their service, and recommend them to everyone who is looking to publish their book.
~ Rohulamin Quander, Author of The Quander Quality: The True Story of a Black Trailblazing Diabetic
I feel so fortunate to have Robert D. Reed Publishers deliver “my baby” to you. I appreciate so much their gentle guidance and wonderful ideas. The primary tasks associated with getting this book ready fell to the vibrant and multi-talented Cleone, whose attention to her authors makes her invaluable. What a gift she has been.
In addition: Robert Reed Publishing has done an outstanding job in getting my book from manuscript to reality. Extremely professional and savvy, Robert Reed does an outstanding job of supporting their authors in ways that matter for the long term.
~ Mary Kurek, author of Who’s Hiding in Your Address Book?
I've had 17 books published by a variety of mainstream publishers in the USA and overseas. That adds up to a pretty disillusioning experience; let me tell you. Then there's Robert Reed. I can't express what a different experience this is. For one thing, he answered my inquiry email within days – whoever heard of that in publishing? The whole organization is thoroughly professional, of course, but also supportive, encouraging and personally involved in their books. Being accepted as a writer for Robert Reed Publishing is like joining a family that is really on your side. For me, that makes a huge difference in the solitary business of writing books. I really like the fact that they are a both small publisher and yet have a great and diverse stable of writers and books. This is the true future of real publishing.
~ Frena Gray-Davidson, author of Alzheimer’s 911
In the changing world of publishing, Bob Reed holds true to the principles of integrity, quality and professionalism. And, Robert D. Reed Publishers is an absolute pleasure to work with.
~ David Henderson, author of The Media Savvy Leader
I highly recommend Robert D. Reed Publishers for your publication. My book agent introduced me to Robert D. Reed Publishers and they could not have recommended a better publishing company. As an author publishing my first book, I was more than delighted to have a publishing company that not only worked closely with me in editing the final copy; but, also successfully marketed the book to be aired on Oprah. Robert D. Publishers is not only a professional organization; but they are also trustworthy. I look forward to publishing my next title with them in the near future.
~ Eileen Williams, authoress of Wishes in Black & White
As a new author, I needed someone both knowledgeable and caring. Bob and Cleone went above and beyond to teach me the ropes of publishing as well as design a program and cover to highlight my book. I have never been so at ease with professionals.
~ Barbara Harken, author of 86th Degree
Bob Reed is an uncommon publisher. Maybe that's because he took a chance with my book when everyone told me a new author would have to self-publish; maybe it's because I've found him fair, positive and supportive; or maybe that's just because . . . Bob Reed is an uncommon man.
~ Marshall McNott, author of Nonprofit Nonsense
We approached Robert Reed Publishers after being introduced to another author whose work Bob had published. We had previously published with an academic publisher and were extremely disappointed by how little guidance we received, how much was expected of us beyond the actual writing, and how little they contributed to the marketing of our work. We were hoping to find a publisher who was more collaborative and appreciative of the marketplace while also valuing subject matter that may not be commercial, but is nevertheless important. We found such a person in Robert Reed and his publishing group. Bob and his assistant Cleone Lyvonne, helped us at every step through the editing, proofing, art selection, printing, marketing and placement of our book. We value our relationship with Bob and Cleone. They have made the burden of authorship quite a bit lighter and freed us to concentrate on research and writing, knowing that the publication process is in excellent hands.

I have had nothing but success and happiness working with Robert Reed and his publishing company. Many larger publishers offer me contracts, but I keep returning to RDR because they always do the best job. My books are now all over the world because of them, and they have never let me down.

I have worked with Robert D. Reed Publishers on my new book Happily Un-Married and find their relationship with authors to be most professional and responsive. I will do it again as soon as my new book is ready. Job well done! I could not be more pleased!
Thanks, John Curtis, author of Happily Un-Married: Living Together and Loving It!
Being patient was the key factor as producing a book is a lot like planting a seed. Time it takes for that seed to transform into a beautiful flower. In the end words like satisfaction and success come to mind once holding a copy in your hands and seeing your own name printed there either on the book jacket or the book's spine itself. The jacket is for show to attract a customer's eye, but the feel of the hard cover in dark color like black with letters in silver or any other color can leave a feeling of personal awe.
~ Eddie Machado, author of The Shadow Mouse of Everjade
I have worked with Robert D. Reed Publishers for four years and have found this company to be outstanding. I was more than thrilled when I received my books. The quality of publishing is truly superb! Bob Reed is honest and a pleasure to work with. I most highly recommend this publishing house.
~ Marilyn Perlyn, author of The Biggest and Brightest Light: A True Story of the Heart
As an author trying to publish my first book, Robert D. Reed Publishers was the most fabulous find! From reading my manuscript, to deciding on cover design, sticking with deadlines and typesetting for the perfect final look, I could not have hoped for a more cheerful, energetic, and competent team to help me launch my book. I'd heard endless horror stories about the difficult (at best) relationships between authors and publishers, but with Robert D. Reed Publishers experienced NONE of it. Thanks to Bob and Cleone, the process was a pleasure and the product a success!
~ Christaiane Griffin-Wehr, author of Travels in Place: A Journey into Memory Loss
Being a first time book author I had questions—lots of them! Bob or Cleone quickly answered back. One example: I sent an SOS email to Bob saying, "I need help. I need advice." Bob emailed me back and said, “Call me; here's my cell phone number.” Do you believe that! I called. He was in the middle of a business meeting with eight other people in a restaurant in another state. I sheepishly said, "Oh, I'm sorry; I'll call back." Bob said, "Wait a minute. I will walk outside and we can talk." He took his time with me and relieved my concern. That moment spoke volumes to me—Reed publishers really does care about their clients and their concerns.
Critiquing the Script: I felt Cleone and others on staff took a personal interest in my manuscript and its message and gave me suggestions that enhanced the script. One suggestion was: I needed chapter titles. Therefore, I had to go back into each chapter and come up with a title. I don't know how many times the staff and I sent my script back and forth to each other. I would change things around, change my mind, delete or add. (I consider myself one of those difficult clients). Point is—they didn't lose patience with me.
Book cover: I had no idea what I wanted. So Cleone went to work brainstorming and came up with a wonderful picture representation for the title as well as color and font. Something else—I had thought about putting a Bible verse on the front cover that's in my script, but I never mentioned it to Cleone. She sent me an updated picture of the cover, and guess what she added? You’re right—the Bible verse I had considered.
Sell sheet: Cleone could not have done a better job representing my book via the sell sheet. And once again, she either read my mind or God put into her head, "Do a little blurb to explain what is behind the title."
Postcards: They are top notch in color, clarity, and information for the book.
My experience with Reed publishers has been: they deliver what they promise. Quality, a professional staff with a personal touch that produces a final product an author can be proud of.

To the Cover Designer, Editor, and Typesetter:
Thank you for making all authors look so good, and making them feel so proud of their work!
Dear Cleone: Thank you for making my dreams come true. It’s truly a spectacular cover. You were able to capture and create the vision I had for the book. The aesthetics of the cover is so captivating that it will only make my job of selling the book that much easier. It is said, “A picture says a thousand words,” and this picture says it all. You are a truly a complete pleasure and blessing to work with.
- Elizabeth Scott, author of Raindrops on Roman: Overcoming Autism: A Message of Hope
Dear Kate: What an insightful and fluent writer and editor you are. You were so thoughtful and compassionate in editing Roman’s story. It was a tremendous pleasure to work with someone who valued my words as much as I do. Thank you for finding the smallest of errors, for editing my sentences, and allowing me the freedom to express myself and maintain Roman’s story. Thank you for seeing the story for what it is; as you expressed to me in your own words, “a true love story.”
How blessed I am to find a true friend using only our words. Thank you.

Dear Amy: So much goes into the writing of a book that many other parts may be overlooked. The production of a book includes more than just the author, illustrator, and editor; there are so many unsung heroes. Thank you for being one of mine. You provide the all-important finishing touches of a book. I am so fortunate to have your loving touch.
